Fixed Matador

Heald’s Fixed Matador surface mount static bollard system offers the surface mount convenience and PAS68 security of our automatic Matador sliding bollard system but in a simple, static package.

The Fixed Matador offers several advantages over more traditional systems. Its surface mount installation is not only extremely fast and efficient, but it also allows for fitting in areas where even shallow mount is impossible; for example, sites with congested underground services alleviating the need for expensive diversions and has proved its ability to protect underground utilities, transferring very little downforce during its IWA crash-test. It can be installed with a minimum of disruption to the road surface, making it ideal for short term or temporary installations.​

Available in two variants HT2 and HT3 the Fixed Matador design is based upon Heald’s award winning Matador (dynamic) range. ​

Customisable to suit client preferences the Fixed Matador can be made to bespoke requirements by our talented engineering team to fit installation sites with the most challenging of constraints.

Available as arrays of 1, 2, or 3 No. Bollards fixed to the same base plate, with the ability to seamlessly join to additional Matador products to extend the protected line indefinitely.

Each Matador can be installed in one of 3 different depth configurations which means that the Matador can be installed no matter the depth constraints or operational security.

Surface Mounted​

This is the configuration in which the Matador was crash-tested. It requires only the shallowest of excavations for a 150mm reinforced concrete slab, however, even this is not required if an existing slab of sufficient size and strength is already present in the installation location. This means the Matador is ideal for temporary events and can simply be bolted down to a suitable base and removed when necessary. Heald Ltd can provide matching ramps and handrails to complete the temporary installation.​

Recessed​

In this configuration the Steel Top Plate of the Matador has an extremely hardwearing anti-slip coating applied which is available in a wide range of RAL colours to help with the visual integration of the system with its surroundings.​

Recessed with Architectural Paving System (APS)​

Heald’s Architectural Paving System is a proprietary set of trays and retaining steelwork fixed above the Matador top plate which can be filled with any surfacing material (Granite, Asphalt, Concrete, Resin, etc.) to create seamless integration with the architectural environment.

Shallow 150mm Reinforced Concrete Foundation.​

Hot Dip Galvanised Steel Base for ultimate corrosion resistance with a structure less than 160mm depth with a Durable Anti-slip coating.​

Multiple drainage points to enable easy connection to local surface drainage.​

Rodding points available if used as part of a drainage system/connected to another Matador.

Optional Paving Trays for seamless integration with Local Architecture. 110mm and 80mm depth APS trays available as standard options (other depths available on request).​

Optional 100mm Red-Green Traffic Lights or Access Control Interfaces can be integrated within Extended Height Bollard Shrouds.​

Wide range of Bollard Shrouds available – bespoke options available on request.

    Foundation Depth: Surface Mounted Matador requires a 150mm deep Concrete Base. Recessing the Matador increases depth by between 155mm to 265mm depending on model chosen.​
