Heald Supports HSLC

Heald have recently sponsored Hornsea School and Language in their recent challenge, the F24 car race. Part of Greenpower Events, the challenge encourages students to build an electric car. They then compete against other schools in the area by taking part in a race. Out of the 29 schools which competed in the race around Hull City Centre, Team Morpheus placed 6th overall.

Hornsea School’s Team, Team Morpheus consists of students aged 11 – 17 years who maintain and race both their electric cars, named Morpheus and Xeina. Being a part of the team encourages teamwork, leadership and problem solving, all of which we endorse in our own company.

Two students and Head Teacher of Hornsea School and Language College, Steve Ostler visited Heald this week to provide us with a framed certificate, which each member of Team Morpheus had signed. They also provided us with an update that they are currently designing a new bumper for their car, Morpheus and building a garage for their electric cars.

Managing Director, Debbie Heald MBE added: “We would like to congratulate Team Morpheus on their success! The whole team should be very proud of their achievements and hard work. Heald is thrilled to be supporting such a great cause and we will look forward to continuing to support Team Morpheus in 2020.”

Heald is actively involved in supporting Hornsea School and Language College and have recently visited the school’s Sixth Form to discuss the importance of work experience. Heald will also be attending the Careers Day next year on Thursday 30th January 2020.
