Heald Support Hornsea School and Language College

Over the past few months, Heald have been busy inspiring the students at Hornsea School and Language College by showing their support at some of the school’s events.

At the end of January, Heald attended Hornsea School’s Careers Event. The aim of the event is to show students aged 11 – 16 what options are available to them once they leave school, whether this is a job, university or college. Heald demonstrated what we do and what further educational studies we can offer, such as apprenticeships.

Not a lot of pupils realise what is just around the corner from them, so this gave Heald the perfect opportunity to show what career opportunities are available. The day proved to be a success, with the students and parents of year 8 pupils visiting on the evening.

Managing Director, Debbie Heald MBE also attended the Aspirational Dinner as a guest speaker, which took place on Friday 8th February. The school hall was transformed to accommodate guests and selected students for a three course dinner, provided by Mellors Catering.

Debbie took to the stage to explain to students what opportunities are out there if they choose to work with Heald. Off the back of the Aspirational Dinner, some of the pupils were invited to the Heald premises for a site tour and to learn more about what Heald do.

We will look forward to continuing to support Hornsea School and Language College, especially with their F24 car challenge, which allows students to build an electric car to race at Greenpower Events. At the beginning of March, Hornsea School’s team, Team Morpheus participated in the qualifying event to take place in the Hull City Centre Race on 28th April 2019. At the qualifying event, they had the fastest time of any car in East Riding of Yorkshire!
