Heald shortlisted for National Apprenticeship Awards 2022

We’re delighted to announce that Heald has been announced as a regional finalist in the National Apprenticeship Awards 2022.

The annual awards recognise the achievements of extraordinary apprentices, the businesses that employ them, and the individuals who champion apprenticeships.

Set to take place on Wednesday, 5th October at the Hilton Hotel, Leeds, the awards ceremony will give individuals and businesses a chance to showcase the very best in practice across the country.

As a niche manufacturer of market-leading security products, finding individuals with specific skill sets can be challenging. However, our tailored apprenticeship scheme has enabled us to combat this by recruiting from various educational establishments. Likewise, by actively engaging with local education providers, including Hornsea School and Language College and East Riding College, we can showcase unique apprenticeship opportunities, provide first-hand learning and offer advice on various career paths here at Heald.

At Heald, we pride ourselves on retaining apprentices for many years, even after their apprenticeship is finished. Securing longevity with apprentices allows them to become experts in our world-leading security products. Whether that translates to progressing to higher level courses or further career progression, this is supported and backed up by our internal structured training program.

As well as being actively engaged with the local education providers, we welcome a variety of students for work placements across the year to give them first-hand experience of what it’s like to work in a leading business such as Heald, supporting our apprenticeship recruitment strategy.

Managing Director, Debbie Heald MBE, commented: “I’m delighted that Heald has achieved a regional finalist place at this year’s National Apprenticeship Awards. Our apprenticeship scheme is something we’re incredibly proud of as a company. We’re extremely honoured to be recognised as a company that inspires young people to achieve careers suited to their skill sets and strengths.

“We’re very much looking forward to celebrating at the awards ceremony, and congratulations to all fellow nominees!”
