Heald Present To West Yorkshire Police

Earlier this week, Heald were invited to Leeds District Police HQ to present to a number of police forces in the West Yorkshire region including Leeds, Kirklees, Wakefield and Bradford. Membership organisation Secured by Design approached Heald to present at the quarterly West Yorkshire Police Development Day, which brings together private sector businesses to discuss how they can support the police in mitigating crime.

Heald’s presentation covered a variety of topics including the company background, detailing how innovation is key to our business success and in particular how this innovation supports the prevention of vehicle attacks. Heald also discussed explained industry performance criterias, which are important to consider for areas that need to be protected and also prove reliability. 

The main focus of the day was Heald’s range of surface and shallow mount products that have been designed and manufactured to suit the built environment along with temporary events. Due to constrictions faced at install due to underground infrastructure, surface and shallow mount products is an area in which we are seeing an increase in demand due to the products only requiring a minimal foundation depth. These products are suitable for areas where underground utilities are close to the surface.

After the presentation, Crime Prevention Officers asked a number of questions as to how Heald’s products might suit certain challenges they face in the areas they protect, with significant interest surrounding Heald’s Matador, a sliding bollard system.
