Rod Heald set to compete in the 2022 Red Bull Romaniacs Challenge

We’re delighted to share the news that Rod Heald, has set out to complete the Red Bull Romaniacs Challenge with the ambition to raise money for the charity WomanKind

Having completed the gruelling charity challenge in 2019, Rod Heald sets out again to accomplish the tough endurance event. From 26th to 30th July, Rod will be competing in the four-day motorcycle race known as the hardest off-road enduro in the world. The event attracts riders from more than 40 countries, and is located in the Romanian Carpathian mountains meaning the challenge does not come easy due to technically demanding hilly landscapes.

Rod will be raising money for the charity WomanKind, which has been supporting women’s rights organisations and movements for 30 years to secure equal rights for women and girls across the globe.

Rod is no stranger to physical challenges, with both Rod and Managing Director of Heald Debbie Heald MBE, having both completed various extreme events raising money for charities including WISHH, Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Rod and Debbie have always been interested in extreme sports. As well as taking part in physically demanding charity events, you will find them riding motorbikes and water-skiing among other activities in their spare time.

Charity fundraising and contributing to positive causes is something Rod, Debbie and the Heald team highly value. Previously Debbie and Rod took on the challenge to cycle 237 miles from Kent to Paris to raise money for two amazing charities, Stem4 and Cancer Research UK. Likewise, over recent years, Debbie and the team at Heald have raised thousands of pounds by taking part in various cycling challenges including a 125-mile ride from Portsmouth to Mont Saint-Michel in France, and more recently completing a bike marathon in 2019 to raise funds for WISHH as part of their COVID-19 fundraising appeal.

Rod is no stranger to physical challenges, with both Rod and his partner Debbie Heald MBE, having both completed various extreme events raising money for charities including WISHH, Teenage Cancer Trust, Cancer Research, Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Heald Managing Director, Debbie Heald MBE comments on the charity event: “Myself, Rod and the whole Heald team really value the importance of contributing to charity organisations. As a business and as individuals it’s important we help wider causes as much as we can. WomanKind is an incredible organisation doing important work across the world and we are proud to be supporting them this year.

The Red Bull Romaniacs Challenge is a very tough course and is very demanding, but I and the Heald team have the utmost confidence that Rod is going to succeed”

Rod Heald added: “Redbull Romaniac’s is one of the world’s hardest enduro events, the track is immense, and the country and people are amazing.

As a proud father of two girls, I feel strongly about supporting this charity as it provides help, support and education which unites to end violence against women and girls”.
