Heald Engineer Wins Eddystone Lighthouse 250th Anniversary Medal Award

At Heald we firmly believe that employing the very best staff is absolutely essential to producing the best perimeter security products on the market. We are delighted to announce that one of our Mechanical Design Engineers, Adam Stephenson, who recently graduated from Hull University has won the Smeatonian Society of Civil Engineers’ prestigious Eddystone Lighthouse 250th Anniversary Medal 2014.

Founded in 1771, the Smeatonian Society is the oldest society of engineers in the world, and embraces engineers from all disciplines. It maintains an extremely select list of members, all of whom represent the very pinnacle of engineering excellence in their own field.

Adam was invited to a formal lunch hosted by the Society at the House of Lords on the 29th of October, where he was presented with the award by the Rt. Hon. The Lord Broers, DL, FRS, FREng. The medal, of which only 10 have been struck, is part of the lead up to the Society’s 250thanniversary in 2021. It is awarded to an engineering graduate judged to have made an outstanding achievement during their studies.

Heald are extremely proud of Adam’s achievement, and are delighted to have him working on our range of world leading perimeter security products, including the award winning HT1-Matador automatic surface mount sliding bollard system and shallow mount HT1-Viper roadblocker.

To celebrate Adam’s achievement, Hull University produced a short video which you can see below.
