Overview
What Are Crash Tested Bollards?
Bollards are posts intended to prevent vehicular access to an area. They can be made from many different types of material.
Crash Tested Bollards are a much more serious security measure. Heald's bollards are made of steel and are designed to withstand high impact. They can therefore prevent access by larger, heavy vehicles and not only pose a significant deterrent, but are highly effective at intrusion prevention.
Crash Tested Bollards offer an alternative to the Roadblocker where the environment requires a more architecturally sensitive security system.
Crash Tested Automatic Bollard
Our Crash Tested Autobollard provides extra high security, and tests have shown it successfully annihilated a 6.8 tonne vehicle travelling at 64kph within 10 metres. The bollard lies flush to the road surface at rest, and rises to a height of 640mm or 800mm at full extension.
The bollards are operated by a hydraulic system and are extremely strong and robust. Their construction ensures minimal ongoing maintenance with a vandal resistant design.
The automated bollard can be operated by a range of access systems and is controlled by a central PLC. The standard raise time is approximately 4 seconds, but can be accelerated for Emergency Fast Operation to approximately 2 seconds.
The auto bollard is an economical security device, designed to be used by any road going vehicle, and is unobtrusive to pedestrians.
