HT1-RAPTOR

Overview

What is the SHALLOW MOUNT HT1-RAPTOR?

The PAS68 2010 HT1-RAPTOR is a totally new concept in anti-terrorist road blocking solutions. It has been designed to guard against the highest level of vehicular threat. It can be raised and lowered to allow vehicles to pass over. The default position would be raised, to prevent vehicles from passing through.

The RAPTOR is a truly formidable defence.
The RAPTOR has been designed specifically for use where a shallow mount barrier is required, for example city centres and the avoidence of underground services.

Standing at a height of 985mm, the unit is 380mm wide x 300mm deep and is manufactured from 15mm profiled sheet steel. The unique design of this product gives it immense strength, the blocking element was therefore undamaged after this impact.

The RAPTOR is offered with an optional rubber top cover and is also suitable for use in pedestrian areas, UNIQUE DESIGN ENSURES NO TRAPPING HAZARD, no safety skirt required, the RAPTOR is safe to operate as there is no overhang or dangerous void therefore conforming to current health and safety laws.

RAPTORS are a significant presence, more so than swing barriers and bollards. Because of their size, they offer protection against larger vehicles.

The PAS68 2010 rated HT1-RAPTOR meets the British standard in stopping a truck from passing through.

PAS 68 HT1-RAPTOR

Heald's Shallow mount RAPTOR was tested at MIRA, the test was conducted using an empty 18 tonner (weighing 7.5 tonnes) travelling at 80 kph (50 mph). The RAPTOR successfully arrested the vehicle and conformed to BSI PAS 68: 2010 (Specification For Vehicle Security Barriers), with the HT1-RAPTOR continuing normal operation following minor repair.

As you can see from the crash test, the vehicle is brought to a complete halt, the truck is completely destroyed.

The cabinet is manufactured from 3mm Zintec sheet (900mm wide x 1200mm high x 600mm deep) and
powder coated grey or white as standard (alternative colours on request). The cabinet is fitted with an integral lock.

The RAPTOR is operated via a heavy duty hydraulic power pack housed within the cabinet complete with a programmable control system with visual status. Various access controls are available to operate the RAPTOR. Available with the option of an accumulator and push button for Emergency Fast Operation.

Fitting is extremely cost effective as no pre-cast pit is required, excavations are 1750mm wide x 2800mm long and only 500mm deep (can be fitted to a minimum of 450mm depth). Only minimal concrete is necessary and no pre-casting of the pit is required, enabling fitting to be completed quickly and efficiently (usually within one day).
The unit sits 435mm into ground and is supplied in its own housing which is concreted into ground using a standard C35 mix.

The PAS68 2010 HT1-RAPTOR can be fitted as one single unit or multiple units on wider roads.
